Calendar test site

  1. The Google calendar embed code

This works for some but not for others (I can see it on my computer screen but not on my phone).

2. Simple Calendar plug-in

Maid calendar

Hmmm – learning curve there… I would have to spend a few hours with this to get it to work. I used Mike’s calendar ID code, but in the settings it didn’t show the “social rowing” entry he’d made.

3. WP GCalendar plug-in

I cannot get this to work at all. It seems to require a Google Client ID and a Google Calendars API – a vastly complex set of instructions on how to do that is listed in the Documentation section. All the external links to these instructions are dead, so they’re only available from within the plug-in.

“To read and add events from your Google Calendars you’ll need create a Google Client ID and save within your plugin settings. Step-by-step instructions to create and save a Google Client ID: Navigate to the Google Developers Console. In the drop-down menu at the top right, select Create a project…”

And so it goes.

Conclusion

It seems the Google embed is the best shot, if we can get it so everyone can see it. Is the calendar set to “public”? I will keep looking for a solution at the WordPress end and test things on this page.
