{"id":2213,"date":"2022-01-11T13:49:28","date_gmt":"2022-01-11T13:49:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/queensferryrowing.org\/?p=2213"},"modified":"2022-01-11T13:49:28","modified_gmt":"2022-01-11T13:49:28","slug":"social-rowing-15-16-jan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/queensferryrowing.org\/?p=2213","title":{"rendered":"Social rowing 15-16 Jan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mike B writes: <\/strong>The tides are very favourable to us this week, with launching and retrieval possible throughout daylight hours every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Social rowing slots at 09:00, 10:00 and 11:00 on Saturday are now available for booking, as are the slots at 13:00, 14:00 and 15:00 on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Youth rowing is in the calendar for 10:00 till 12:00 on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As ever, if you would like a place in any of the social rowing slots, please contact me directly on\u00a0mikebreewood@gmail.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51814670279_409ca2e999_b.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mark has an update on boat maintenance: <\/strong>Ferry Maid is now ready to take to the water.\u00a0 Huge thanks to Douglas\u00a0for structural improvements to the boat and to the tiller, and he along with Mike M have upgraded the stroke footrest.\u00a0 \u00a0Thanks too to Alan D for a mirror-like finish to the gunnels varnish, and to Barbara plus Duncan for heavy duty sanding and painting inside and outside the hull.\u00a0 And to Alan S for some useful ideas for protective materials as well and to anyone I may have missed.\u00a0 Thank you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But.&nbsp; We now need to take Ferry Lass out of circulation for a week or so to make some fairly modest improvements.&nbsp; Similar to FM we plan to round off the edges of the keel inside which gets bashed a lot by wellied feet.&nbsp; This plus some touching up and the skiff will be ready to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hurrah for Ferry Maid and Ferry Lass and to lots (we hope) of rowing ahead this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mike B writes: The tides are very favourable to us this week, with launching and retrieval possible throughout daylight hours every day.
