Below is the regatta and events programme for this year. A couple of events – including our own regatta, Community Challenge and the North-South contest – are still to be confirmed, so keep an eye on emails and the noticeboard. An online spreadsheet sign-up is being trialled, but sheets are still on the noticeboard in the shed.
Obviously the club isn’t attending all the events in the list, but they’re included here to give an idea of the spread and variety of rowing activity through the year.
06 April: Port Seton and Cockenzie Regatta. Sprints with tight turns, cox’s delight. QRC attending.
14 April: Bass Rock row, North Berwick. Both boats attending.
05 May: Eskmuthe Regatta. Musselburgh, short sprint races, QRC attending
11-12 May: Firth of Clyde Regatta, Largs. Sprints on the Saturday and a picnic row on the Sunday. QRC attending.
18 May: Perth to Wormit row. Three legs, Perth to Newburgh (7.2 miles), Newburgh to Balmerino (9 miles), Balmerino to Wormit (3.2 miles).
25 May: Nairn Regatta. 2K races on a 500m course.
1 June: Prestwick Regatta.
8 June: Ocean to City – An Rás Mór, Cork. Ireland’s premier long-distance rowing race.
8 June: Troon Regatta. 2K races and 500m sprints.
22 June: Arran Regatta.
22 June: Broughty Ferry Regatta. 2k races with 12 skiffs in two waves. QRC attending.
6 July: Golspie Regatta.
6 July: Royal West Regatta, Greenock.
13-14 July: Ullapool Regatta. 2k races with a variety of categories. QRC attending
20 July: Stranraer Regatta. Racing on the 20th, with a fun day planned for the 21st.
03 August: Perth Skiff Summer Gathering. Row downstream on the last of the ebb tide to the mouth of the River Earn, return passage to the club house and a circumnavigation of Moncrieff Island. Topped off with a family BBQ.
09 August: SkiffieFest, Strangford Lough, Northern Ireland.
10 August: Cromarty Regatta.
17 August: Avoch Regatta.
24 August: Nith Raid. Two-leg river race. Glencaple to Dumfries 5 miles and return 5 miles.
25 August: Bell Raid. A crossing of the Solway Firth from Annan to Bowness on Solway and return with a stop for refreshment in Cumbria.
31 August: North Berwick Regatta. Racing 3.2km round Craigleith. QRC attending.
07 September: Castle to Crane – 21 km race up the Clyde from Dumbarton Rock to the Finneston Crane. Both QRC boats entered.
14 September: Royal Northern and Clyde Regatta, Helensburgh. 500m Sprint Regatta, together with longer 1500m races. Event to be held across Rhu Bay.
26 October: SCRA Freshwater sprints, Loch Tummel. The traditional end of the regatta season. Pick and mix races.
Queensferry Regatta – cancelled.
Alan Meldrum Community Challenge – not held this year.
North South race, in which we defend the trophy against North Queensferry – not held this year.

6 July – Skiffie Worlds, Stranraer
