Spring Fling Ceilidh

Marianne writes: A wee reminder that our club ceilidh is on Friday 14 February. Tickets are £15, U18s £10. The ticket price includes food, and it’s BYOB. The Ewan Galloway Scottish Dance Band will keep us jigging the night away!

If you only come to one ceilidh this year*, make it the Queensferry Rowing Club Spring Fling!

Tickets are available at the Shed from the Social subgroup: Marianne, Tracey, Val, Steph and Lorna, or email me at hollycherry1004@hotmail.co.uk . All proceeds will go towards QRC club funds.

* John adds:  QRC members are invited to the Port Edgar Yacht Club Ceilidh, which is being held at the PEYC clubhouse on Saturday 1 February. Tickets are £15 and may be purchased via  www.peyc.org.uk – where further details are available.

Members of QRC are Associate Members of PEYC and so will benefit from the facilities of the new clubhouse and it would be great if we could support this event, which will help raise funds for furnishings.

Tides for 6-12 January 2020

Dónal writes: Firstly I’d like to thank Alistair, Mark and Douglas for making the repairs to the keel band of the Lass and getting it back on the water so quickly.

We have a low tide early on Saturday morning, too low I think for an early morning crew to  get a pontoon. I would suggest that we get there as normal, and then as soon as there is water we can launch .

Sunday’s tide might not be wholly accurate – I had to go to a website.

Tides for the week of 2-8 December

Dónal writes: I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful night on Saturday – thank you to the Social Committee for organising it.

On Sunday we had SCRA committee members  Max (Woudrichem), Barbara (Anstruther), Topher (Ullapool) and Robbie (North Berwick) out in Ferry Lass in perfect if very cold conditions, and they enjoyed themselves and admired our bridges and wildlife.

This week the tides are good for day and night rowing. Thankfully we will not need a pontoon at the weekend. I won’t be down next week, so enjoy yourselves.

Can we get some Skippers to let us know if they will be there so we have enough to get the boats out. Email me at dferrie74@gmail.com.
